Thursday 26th June

To start the day we did jump-jam and then did the roll. In the roll we said objects that Mrs.Roberts would hold up in and counted from 23 all in . After the roll we did the bus board, then did the news centre to see what's happening in the school then we did two rounds of Māori bingo. Then we got stuck into maths talking about the six and times tables. Then we did some measuring maths for a while then it was morning tea.

After morning tea we looked at a poem.
The poem is about a man who go's fishing (there will be a picture at the bottom of the page) and the author is John Walcot. John was born 1738 and died 1819. So we had a talk about what the structure of the poem is based on, what it means and what the poem is about. Also we had a talk about how he organised the writing and how it was put together if you want to know more about John Walcot copy the link at the bottom of this paragraph and paste it in the search bar. Then we looked at the rhyme patterns in this poem and the rhythm of to the fish in the brook. We had a go looking at how the rhyme and the rhythm go together in the poem and the sylables in it. Then we had a look at Diamanté poems and looked at the patterns in the poems below. Then we made our own poems on the subject of war using the words from the sheet that we did yesterday for a competition. Then it was lunch.

After lunch we did the roll then we got stuck into doing our letter art which is basically we drew the first letter of our names then (making sure it was the right size) Mrs.Roberts cut it out and we made it 3D. Then we read the book the cay until the bell rang at 3:00.
