First day of Ruru's camp

On Sunday morning the Rurus got up and went down to Plateau School at 8.00am in the morning because it was the day that Rurus went to ski camp.
Everyone was split up into two groups, each group was to go in one off the two vans up to the mountain  In both vans it was very loud. We did not have very many stops because the weather was raining, the only stops we had were to go to the toilet and one stop to have lunch. At lunch time Mr Frater said that the mountain was closed so we could not get to  our cabin, so we had to stay at a place called Plateau Lodge. It took us about 7 hours to get too the Ski Bizz where we were to get our snow boots and skis. Ski Biz was a shop full of  every thing you would need if you were going on a snowy mountian. When you had finished you were allowed to go and wait outside, most people ran over to see the horse on the other side off the fence, but that was when we found out why the horse was not moving, it had a giant gash in its leg. We went and got an adult and they told a man in the shop and he said that he knew about the gash in the horse's leg because the horse was his and that the day before he cut his leg. When we were all done we crossed over the road where our lodge was and then sorted where we were all sleeping. Once we had sorted who was sleeping where we all got told to get our togs and meet back in the lounge where Mr Frater told us that we were going to the hot pools. We had an fantastic time at the hot pools. When we had all finished getting changed  we went and brought fish and chips, we went and at them at the park and then went back to the lodge.

  1. Ruru, I've been keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will improve and you will get up the mountain today. Thanks for the blog. Mrs R
