Monday 16th May

The first thing we did in the morning was the roll, during which we caught up on what people had done in the weekend. Later kea joined us for some science work. We took a look at some categories in science that we do our science experiment in. After we did that we got together in groups that we could work nicely in, we got some ideas and backup ideas and questions that we could get the answers to within 3 weeks, and also learn something from it.

After getting a fabulous amount of fresh air and food, we came back into Ruru and Kea and Ruru began discussing some predictions for what might happen in our new book grandad's great escape. After some great predictions, we began our first chapter. We had a little fright when we found out it was set before Internet and mobile phones and computers!

We then had our first PAT which was Reading comprehension. I think we all did the best we could. After we'd finished the PAT test, we were told to continue writing our report on the ballons. After we were allowed to draw or read a book. I chose to read my book, after doing the work required.

Afterwards we played a quick round of splash, which is a game where someone, mainly the teacher will call someone out and then they will have to duck as the people beside them will try to shoot them with imaginary water guns. If they do not they are out. Then the person that sat down will call out another persons name and it will repeat.

After more fresh air and food, we had our class photos. A lot of people were very excited for this, and I expect they ought to be! We were all nicely dressed up and ready for our photos. We arrived ready and excitedly for our photos.

After some fabulous photos we came back to the class and did some work on our science reports, our must do's can do's, and our observational sketches of shells. Kea then came and joined Ruru for some more reading of grandad's great escape before we went to our homes.
