Thursday 29 May

Today we did Jump Jam in the hall because it was too wet outside, we danced to "Super Star" and "How Let The Dogs Out?" Then we went back to class and Mrs. Roberts called the roll and did the same as yesterday: with every name she called she held up a picture and we would call out the Maori word for the object in the picture. After that she did the bus board and the daily notices. Then we did something with a partner about what life would be like with no electricity. People said things like, no traffic lights, no light, no computers, the wouldn't be any electricity to use things like X-Rays in hospitals, and it would be very cold because heaters wouldn't work. Then Mrs. Roberts said we had to do more making 3D shapes with play doh and match sticks and write it down in our chart as much as we can.

We did 3D shapes until morning tea, then we got our lunch boxes and sat on the mat to eat. It was too wet outside so we stayed inside to play. Some people had to go to room monitoring so they went, the rest of the people went on computers, did some drawing, or carried in with their 3D shapes. After morning tea, we sat on the mat with our milk while Mrs. Roberts read the Hobbit to us. Then we looked at some descriptions on the Interactive White Board.

We read a description called "The Storm" and we said our favourite sentence, mine was: I watch helplessly as the mighty wind picks leaves up off the ground and hurtles them into the sky like an invisible thief. I also like: The tree branches wave frantically for me to help them, but there is nothing I can do, the storm is too powerful. After that we went to the hall to do Folk Dancing. We looked at a video on how to do "Seven Jumps"

After that we went to lunch. When we got back, we read the Hobbit for a bit, then we did some art for an hour. After some art, we sat on the mat and Mrs. Roberts read the Hobbit to us for a little bit, then the bell went and we went home
