Tuesday 31st May 2016

Today we started the day off with the roll then we did Jump Jam. 

 

Then we carried by on with our Scince Reports and Experements.

 

Then it was Morning tea! Yum yum!

After Morning tea we did our Scince, Reading eggs and Silent Reading.

  

While we were doing that Mrs. Old let us play Music on the big White-Board.

 

Then we did a compotition with spelling and we got to pick our team with the colour of Mackintosh.

Then we played Dodge Ball in the hall!

 

Then it was lunch! Yummy!

After lunch we did the roll and watched two videos of the recent gorilla attack and then carried on with our Scince.

 

30th May 2016

Today we have Mrs. Old's for the day. We started the day as usual with Jump Jam and then the roll. For Maths we played a game called 'around the world'.

Then Mrs Olds did a Workshop with Garett and Ryan for Maths. Then we did Mathletics because our 'Must do's can do's' Hadn't been sent to us yet.

 

Then it was Morning tea! Yum yum! 

After Morning tea we did Reading and Reading eggspress.

 

 

After that we had a talk about reports.

 

We need a Heading/Title, A Topic Sentance, Mention main Points, and a Concluding Points all in our Introduction. 

Then Four people showed a Presentation on David Walliams.

 

Then Mrs. Olds taught us how to make paper Butterfies and this is how it turned out;

 

Then it was lunch time!

After lunch we did the roll but it wasn't working so we ended up doing it on paper.

Then Mrs. Olds read us a Paul Jennings story.

 

Then we got on with our Scince Projects and then played Dodge Ball!

 

Then it was home time! 

Thursday 26th of May

Hello lovely people of the world today's blogger is me Elizabeth and I'm here to tell exactly what we have done today. Let's get on with it. We started with our rockin jump jam routines and everyone got extremely pumped. Today some grown ups got pumped with us to which was nice. After we did the roll everyone was here well hopefully almost everyone was here today because we are going to be doing some really important fun things but everyday when we do the roll we learn a new word in Maori and it so happened today we learnt our fruits and veggies and some dairy treats. I still can remember one which is what a sandwich is in Maori the way to say it is hanawiti, cool name for a sandwich right. Well I think it is anyway. After roll it was must do's can do's, last time to do them before the weekend. Lots of people worked hard though we may have turned the volume a bit to high. I had done nearly all of them. I was about to finish my mathletics. The bell went Ring Ring time for morning tea see you once I have eaten my delicacies. 

Oh hello again let's get on with it, next we started with reading Grandpas Great Escape. Boy that book is really good so far but chapter 18 was one of the best definitely  a lot of comedy in that chapter. We had mooning at elderly Japanese, some kids trying to be a perky penguin and lots more on there lucky trip to the Zoo the aquarium and some parks in there too but what will happen when they visit the international war museum?  We don't know. After we soon went straight to the amazing library to have a go at writing a book report. We watched a video on what you need to do. So  here are the steps 1. Find a common library and find a book that you are interested in 2. Read the actual book that means don't look up facts about this lovely book, go and read it yourself  3. Plot down your facts that you would be interested in putting in the report 4. Once we had plotted the ideas done it was time to go back to class. We started doing a introduction on the topic we choose yesterday, most of us did well but some still need some help. Then guess what...Ring ring I'm coming my delicious food see you after.

                  

Uh hello again right now everybody in kea and Ruru that are not in Kapa Haka are playing Circle time when you get asked a question and if you have that seen that done that then you change spaces it is about adapting into new places and and just getting on with it even if you don't want to move and Mrs Roberts and Mr Sheehan have decided we will do this routine everyday. after we stayed in the circle and said what are favourite place is where we want to go what we like we also had the option to pass we played this while we waited for the Kapa Haka people so we could go to singing we finally had everybody and walked over to singing to sing our little hearts out. This singing is not normal singing, oh no this is senior singing,when all us seniors can sing hard songs for accembly and to train our voices in a good way. The  first song we sang was E Toru Nga Mea then now I'm pretty sure everytime we sing this song we are getting more fabulous. yes it's the great song Hooked on a feeling by Blue Swede and of course next we are doing hey Dad I want to be a camel. How nice we had sung so well we were lucky to have one more of kiwi kids songs today it was lucky Ma Te Mahi Ka Ora.  Let's give this song our best shot seniors oh wait a minute we are delayed to computer difficultys oh what a shame maybe next time next week but now we must go do our science experiments. we all had very much fun especially with the Lilly challenge lucky them but they deserve it because they are some of the best behaved kids in the two classes but since we were in kea we had to pack up quickly and when we came back it was chapter 20 that's a shame but I do know one thing hmm now what's that oh yes is that some snoring I here up in the ancient spit fire oh yes now Ring Ring time to go home I would love to stay but my family is calling back at home I will be looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
                   

Ruru's Blog 2016 23rd of May

Welcome to ruru's blog blogger today is me Elizabeth And this is what we did today 

First of all we did the roll and jump jam at jumpjam we defiantly got pumped up with one of are super star routeienes Then we went straight into doing are must do's can do's for maths in are must do's can do's we do maths websites like mathletics we do board games and sudoku and workshops for when we don't get something like for example I'm struggling on my times table and I would really love some help then if there  is a workshop doing times tables you would go there so you can grow your brain cells and here is a picture of my friends sheets. 

But to show the teacher that we have done these little tasks we colour them on are drive are drive holds folders and slides that we can put work and presentations on we have got so used to using it is now part of are daily routine we also use it for putting links lfor are singing and typing down what we will be doing with are work we have three helpers Mrs Roberts helps us and so does Pip and Mr Shehan there all extremely smart and lovely to have around.

Hello again I'm back  from morning tea lets see what is install for Ruru now

First we started with Granpas Great Escape read to us by Mr Shehan this book is about a boy and his grandpa the boy loved his grandpa very much he loves listening to his story's of when he was in world war 2 his grandpa has a terrible condition from becoming older he is starting to forget things he even has forgotten his sons name his grandpa is starting to go back in time when he was a young wealthy soldier but his parents are desperate for him to go to a old person home but jack the boy is determined to save his grandpa.

After reading we went to science we are learning to observe closely at objects today it was a popcorn seed we drawed what we saw then we coloured it in  and wrote and described what it looks like we know are popping it to see what it now will look like we are also wondering what could of happened if  and use are what how why when we are going to draw it once we all finished we get to eat the popcorn delicious!

 

We also got to have a say on how we think things are going on working with kea and if we like how we are learning there are lots of pros and cons on the document but we are just being completely honest on what we think and the teachers will look at what we have type and work on it to make are classroom a better place for the teachers and children Ring ring! Time for lunch see you when I get back.

After lunch

Hello right now we are going to get back into science we are going to be doing experiments my group did the candle and the glass of water last week this week we will be testing which marble goes master on different types of wood for instants wood block ruler and a board I will take some pictures and videos of what happens lucky you to see scientists in action.

  

Wednesday 2016 25th May

Good morning big bright world I'm Elizabeth Today's blogger and today we first started with roll after jump jam  to get the blood rushing through our brains to make our brain ready to learn. After pumping up we went back to must do's can do's to get our brain cells growing yippee then RingRing Morning tea time

            

Hello let's get back to work first we started with a chat about the peer mediation box about that we need to empty it every three weeks after we read our amazingly book  Grandpas Great Escape By David Walliams. It is a lovely book and you can know all about it on Monday's blog  but today we read another chapter. This chapter was about him talking with and old friend and Jack managed to find out more about the mysterious old folks home called twilight towers. Once he hears how dreadful it is he runs to tell his parents straight away but is he in time we don't know, find out later in the next chapter now let's get onto some work. First we have a choice between Mr Sheehans class room and topic or Mrs Roberts. I choose to do Mrs Roberts about hand ball but the point of this is to learn how to write a proper introduction. We wrote some rules and why would you play it, we are looking at a website a very smart person made on how to with a lot of information. We each had a turn to read if wanted  then we had our lovely reciprocal reading in our groups.So let's get on to it with this reciprocal  reading we do, what we predict then clarify summarising and questions. Some groups got rather carried away but in the end we all finished our journals. We played this really quite fun game when the teacher says have you been have you done this or that it is about working together and adapting to new places and I think kea and Ruru enjoyed it very much. we also pulled some funny faces! Then Ring Ring pops time for lunch see you later.

                   

Hello people and children of the world and here is what we did in the afternoon. First we did our roll to make sure we our all here  and then we had a talk about how looking after the juniors at Lunch was and most people said fabulous but some said that they are still learning. Anyway now we are going to sing and fill our day with happiness. The  songs we sang we're Hooked on a Feeling By Blue Swede next we had Dad I Want to be a camel then it was E Toru Nga Mea and then the lovely Mauria Mai Taku Wai with the actions. Good luck Plateau  school.  Then we went to doing our own science projects then we finally where allowed to have anougher chapter of Grandpas Great Escape. Hurrah, let's see what the book holds for us in the next in chapter 15 this chapter is about his parents letting him come and live in jacks bedroom but he has some responsibility he needs to make sure he does not go wandering off and that he needs to keep a close eye on his grandfather. Then it was chapter 16 called the bottom bunk was empty. in this chapter grandpa left out the window, now he needs to secretly find his grandpa. we managed even to make it to chapter 17 and this one was called Nothing. Jack was so sad he stapled posters on every post he could find but now it has been a whole week  and the news of him missing is old and that is the end of chapter 17 Ring Ring time to go home see you tomorrow with another of my famous blogs see you later.

After lunch

Hello I'm back  again from lunch  let's see what Ruru has install for us 

So first of we have science  we are doing some experiments, my group last week did what we could see when we put a glass full of water and a candle and a sheet of glass In the middle  this week we are testing what marble is faster on different types of wood carpet and objects this is a picture of what it was supposed to look like and what it looked like

          

We are now planning for are own science projects I am so in a group of four with some girls we have 25 more minutes to do this so let's get on with it we have done all we needed to do time to tidy up tidy up time time to put your things away after we learnt a 5minute lesson on physics to test different ways of making the Se saw go up here is my teacher and friend Zoe after physics we read Granpas Great Escape and read one more chapter yay! Then it was Ring Ring time to go home see you tomorrow!

Tuesday the 24th of May 2016

Hello today's blogger is Elizabeth and here is what we did first the first thing  we did was jumpjam and every body was enthusiastic they were also up and going ready for the day to begin and nearly the whole class got a award for jump jam. After we had an honesty and a talk about collaborative learning  and about what we thought of group learning and how to improve what we are not sure of and behaviour  then Ring Ring  uh oh looks like it it morning tea time see you later.

                      

Hello again  let's see what's next for us to do looks like we finishing our chat with Ruru and kea.Once we had finished and heard what everyone has to say we started up again with grandpas great escape. We read at least one chapter and got onto a really sweet part  when Jack brought his grandfather into history class to tell all his amazing journeys in his great and noble spitfire. After  we had planned to learn how to properly write a report on science or hand ball but kea had planned already to go to the library, so we are starting our must do's can do's for this week. Then one of ruru's students thought we have sat on our bum too long lets get up and groove with some go noodle. We danced to Cha Cha Swing! Then Ring Ring see you after lunch.

Thursday 19 May

Today we started off with the roll and some jump jam. Today we have Mrs Olds  After having a talk about how much we liked Goodnight Mr Tom, and whether we have seen the movie and then which one preferred, we began a observational work sheet in which we had to tell whether the scentance was true to the picture. 

  

Then we did maths word questions. Some of us found out you can't have half a whole. Afterwards we went in to Kea to work with them. We did some maths with them too. Today is a prove it day, which means we can prove that we can do a maths strategy to the teacher and once we've done that we can move ourselves up to th next stage of our maths. 

After some fresh air and food, we did a PAT test. Those who finished the PAT test and were reading we got to go the library bus if they wanted to. After some reading and going to the library bus if you wanted to we went over to the school library. 

After going to the school library we came back and did some completely silent reading in the class room. We did some completely silent reading until it was almost time to lunch, when we started handing out some notices. Then we went out for some fresh air and food. 

 

After some fresh air and food we did our after lunch role and then Mr Old's began reading a Paul Jennings story. It was revolting! We all gagged when the gross parts happened. We then did senior singing. We also did the running man challenge, which was incredibly funny! 

Then we went home to our warm houses and great families.

Wednesday 18 May

Today we opened with the roll. Then we went out to go to jump jam and get our blood pumping and our brain working for the day. At jump jam we did the songs chocolate and superstar. I think it is safe to say that majority of the class like jump jam, because it certainly warmed us up! 

We then took a look at the schedule for this morning. We had some workshops on, and basic facts ladder. We have a very busy maths morning! We also took a look at after morning tea and after lunch. We have maths this morning and literacy after morning tea, then we are hopefully going to do our science project and singing after lunch. But first we have to do our basic facts ladder. 

 

 

After having some inside air and food, we had a small amount of time to read silently inside. Then we had Mrs Roberts read to us. We had not a lot of fresh air because of the thunder and rain pouring down from the clouds and onto the cold hard ground, but atleast we got a chapter of grandad's great escape out of it. 

We then had our literacy PAT test on vocabulary. When we finished it, we were allowed to read for a bit, or finish our reports on the balloon, of course I chose to read my book, Harry Potter. After that we were allowed to finish our must do's can do's, or finish extra work. 

After some inside air and food, we went to singing. We sang Mauria Mia and Hooked on a feeling from guardians of the Galaxy. We then attempted to learn the actions to Mauria Mia and ended up only finishing the actions to the first 2 verses. 

 

 

 

Then after a splendid day at school, we went home to our warm beds for the night.
