Thursday 30 July

Today we started off with the roll and jump jam. After the roll we did the bus board and the news centre. After the roll we get started on our maths. We do some work on time and Mrs Roberts put clock stamps in all our topic books. Once we had finished the clocks we got onto our work sheets.

We have Mr Sheehan and he helped us with our work and he had a good talk to us about the year six camp in term four. Mr Sheehan said "sorry year fives, how many year fives are there in here?".

We then went out for a game of dodge ball.

After that we had morning tea

After morning tea we went to the library, and spoke about the year six camp in term four( again).

After that we read some books from the library.

We come over onto the library mat and watch some TV about skimming and scanning we stop in a part of the film and talk about it. It is only 01:07 long.

We learn about what skimming and scanning mean and then get a work sheet to do some work on about skimming and scanning. Mrs Roberts asked us questions whilst we did these sheets.

We then get strait into hand writting so that our writing gets neater for our future.

After library time we go to lunch and play very kindly.

After lunch we do the roll and then went to senior sining and gym has been cancelled.
Mrs Roberts reads us "The chicken gave it to me"

We now go to senior sports after walking sensibly out of the hall from senior singing.
After senior sports we pack our bags and go home.
SCHOOLS OUT.

Friday 31st July 2015

We start the day off with the roll and no jump jam be cause it's Friday, after the roll we do the bus board and news centre.

We have Tilly tell us what our jobs are for the day.

We get onto recorders.

It's homework day today! Who's been doing their homework?

Cody A makes a mistake in his homework and that leads us to learn something, we learn that when a word is spelt a spicific way and you add an s to the end you change the spelling. Example: Butterfly will change to butterflies, and story will change to stories.

Elizabeth shared some facts with us from her homework. Lots of us Ruru whanau got our mathletics certificates.

We talk a bout spelling such as everythink is not correct but everything is correct.

We then look at Craig's homework and his spelling is Maori.

We finish our homework and then go out to morning tea

After morning tea we go to buddy reading.

After buddy reading we finish off our work like our topice page and our holiday poster and/or mathletics.

After we do our finishing off and poems we go out to a spectacular lunch.

After a spectacular lunch we tidy up the tables, do the roll and go to our whanau groups. I'm in Green whanau group.

After a great whanau group session we pack up the class again and line up for assembly.

This is our set-up for our presentation poem first and then Rakau sticks last.
We have a great assembly and then the bell rings by surprise.

Our jobs

We get straight into maths in table groups. 1 2 and 3 are on mathletics and 4 5 and 6 did math sheets.

We are learning to tell time and time relationship challenges.

We now swap rotation.

We have a race to to pack up the tables and who ever won would get table points but Mrs Roberts couldn't decide who to give them to so no one got them.

Morning tea we eat inside today.

After a while playing at morning tea we come inside and get started with silent writing.

We have been learning to put our stories into paragraphs like this one written by Grace Webb.

We now start on our poems and work really hard

Makaia is a great poem artist!

Lunch time after another race to get table points.

After lunch we go to singing and the people in Artsplash do Artsplash practise.

After singing we talked about enrichments.

We mix up the table groups and work on honesty and got put into the solo levels. We all have a unique act in our groups.

Mrs Roberts now read to us Best Mate.

After she read us the book the bell rung and we went home

Gym time yay!!!

We did gym for a while and then the bell rung and we had to pack up

We did the roll and then had a conversation about our place values to LaDainian.

Now we are going to have a game of bingo and while we are doing this we have to think about what we think we should do for solo assembly.

Whahoo!!!

We are going to play dodge ball after bingo.

After a fair game of dodge ball we came inside and did Rakau sticks. After Rakau sticks we packed up the class and Mrs Roberts read us Best Mate.

A while later the bell rung.

Monday 27 July

Monday

We start with the roll and it took quite a while, and mrs Moor came and hurried us up. We had to say the time on the clock in Maori and say one sentence of what we did on the weekend.

After we had finished we began our maths about time. There are three sheets and we have been doing them since last week.

It is about time and years example. :  How many years are in a century ?

After these two sheets we get onto harder sheets such as a sheet that looks like this one

We did this until morning tea time
Munch munch munch

Morning tea finished and Mary shared her news from the holidays.

She went to Australia and went to the zoo and got to pat a wallaby.

When Mary had finished Mrs Roberts began reading Best Mate a book that Ruru have been reading for a few weeks.

After we had finished reading we did some poetry and Mrs Roberts read us a poem and asked us to say some words on what we thought about it.
She then explained about what other poems we could do like concrete and diamond poems.

Some poems are very weird and unique. Also very catchy!!!
We begin brainstorming our poems.

We swapped class room with kea because of something they are doing.    We now start reading groups and do all our work.

The bell rang for lunch all to soon and we all went back to Ruru and packed away our stuff and sat on the mat waiting for the teacher
Food time!

We had a great lunch and then the bell rang and we all came running back to class and did the roll

We spoke Maori for the roll and we mixed up the questions. After the roll we did rakau sticks

Mary shared some more of her holiday news and then we went out for a game and the bell rang
