Friday 29th of August

When the bell rang we went to class and did the roll and the bus board, after we did the bus board we did homework. After homework we were finishing off then the bell rang for morning tea.

After morning tea we did buddy reading.

Lots of the class went to kapahaka while the rest finished off work. In the afternoon some of the class went to practise for dance splash and others were editing and improving their presentations.

It was then time to go to assembly.

After Jump Jam we did the roll and after the roll Mr.Frater came in and showed us where we are going for ski camp and what we had to bring.

Then the bell rang for morning tea, after morning tea Mrs.Roberts read us a book called "Once"

 

After we read Once we went to the mobile library. 

Then we were finishing off.

Then we packed up for lunch.

When the bell rang to go back to class we did the roll.

After the roll Mrs.Roberts read us "Once" again.

Then we packed up and went to senior sports.

After sport the bell rang to go home.

When the ball ring everyone went over to jump jam, then we came back and did the roll and then played a game of bingo . Then we went in to the math groups and did some fractions in the  groups. When the ball ring we all got oot milk and drunk it then we did some silent reading. Then we talked about your bug for the topic we are doing until 12 o'clock. Then we did some plays. Then the bell rang. After lunch we played a game.

We went into the hall to play bench ball without the benches!

We came back to class and practised the last few plays and then performed them.

That was the end of the day.

20th August 2014

The ball ring for the start day and jump jam was not on because the bad wether.we all sat on the mat and did the roll Mrs. Roberts said go and get an object from the class room and bring it to the mat. For the roll we did he aha tena and answered back he penne tenei. Next we played a game of Te Reo bingo. Then we went in the hall and did a song and a farewell presentation for Mrs. Nicol and we went to the library. Then the ball ring we sat down on the mat and started drinking the mike and  mrs Roberts start reading the chaper book call Once by Morris Gleitzman for 5 minutes. We started reading it because we were waiting for the bus to go to Maidstone Intermediate. Here we are at Maidstone school. 

When we got back to school we all talked about what we liked about the school.

Then mrs.rosbets rend a book to us.

19 of August 2014

 

In the morning everybody went to jump jam. We did Boriquitto and Blme it on the bogie.

Then we came back to Ruru to do the roll. We all replied with "good morning Mrs Roberts".

We all got into our maths groups and did some fractions, which was difficult but good.

Then the bell rang for morning tea.

After morning tea we had some milk and then we got ready for silent writing. And then mrs Rosbets said that you have 5 minutes to read over it. 

Then 3 people read their fantastic stories and then people  gave them feedback. Then we got back in to their research. After the bell rang we all went to kea room and we did some work and games and then we went Skipping. And then the ball ring for end of the day.

18th August 2014

 At the beginning of the day  everyone went to jump jam.  After jump jam we came back to the classroom and did the roll. 

We did some fractions with Mrs Roberts on the board.  Then we got into our maths groups and did some more fractions.

Then the bell rang for morning tea.

After morning tea Zoe from the whitebait connection came and taught us all about fish and rivers. She showed us a slide show with rivers.  Each group sat at a table, each table had to answer different questions. At each table one person listed our answers on a piece of paper. 

Then we got to go to lunch.

After lunch we did the roll, we had to answer "Kei te pehea koe" or  "Good afternoon".

Then Mrs Roberts asked us some questions about some words that started with the letter C.  The topic was rivers. Some examples were cold and cover.

Mrs Roberts told the class that they had to give a presentation with a partner about a bug that Zoe had talked about.  This presentation was to be done on the chrome books or computers.

After that Mrs Roberts talked to us about some fillings to go in our sandwiches for camp.

We went and started our presentations.

Then we finished the day with a chapter book.

15 of August

Today we started of with the roll and then got straight into recorders. After recorders we did homework sharing and sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to LARA. Then it was morning tea.

After morning tea we shared the rest of our plays and made a special card. Which you can see next week.

After lunch we continued finishing our work and then went to assembly to watch The Good Time Academy.

Some people volunteered to dance to different types of music. Way to go Jacob.....great dancing! Watson from Kea class did a great job singing. 

And we were a great audience

Caelan and Ella ran the assembly and they did a great job.

Thursday 14th August 2014

This morning started with jump jam. Mrs.Roberts took the roll and we had to ask the next person what classroom object we, they or somebody else had in Te Reo Maori.
We had mini whiteboards to show that we knew what halves, quarters etc looked like.

We then played Te Reo bingo with numbers 1 to 20, then numbers 21 to 40, and Will won twice.

After morning tea we started reading "Once" then we continued with practising and performing our plays.

In the afternoon we preformed more plays and was going to play dodgeball but it hailed.

Wednesday 13 August

The bell rang,everyone walked to jump jam,we started jump jam with the song super star  then we did madagasga.

After jump jam we walked back to class,then when we got back from jump jam Mrs.Roberts called the roll.

After the roll the class manager read out the names of who's doing what.

After the class manager read who's doing what we did some maths,we got given two fraction sheets.

When some of the people where done they finished of work.

After everyone was finished we started,Mrs.Roberts started to ask people what plus,takeaway,times, dived by,<,>,=,1:2.

Then we started to mark our work,half way though marking the bell rang.

After morning tea we had our milk,then one of the debty principal,the principal and two people from Maidstone and talked about Maidstone and the oppurtunies there are to do.

After the Maidstone people left Mrs.Roberts asked us if we were worried about anything about Maidstone and what we were looking forward to

After we did some skipping.

After we started a book called once by Morris Gleitzman for 17 minutes.Then the bell rang

Monday 12th August

The bell rang,everyone went back to there classes,we started the day with roll then maths for maths we did this game called close call.

After maths we finished our flight work to see how many kms Mrs.Roberts  traveled.

After the flight work the bell rang it was a inside play,some people loomed,read,finished off work,drew and played games. After 25 minutes the bell rang.then we went to the library and issued the books that we wanted and then we read the book that we issued

When we got back from the library we started to do some plays that we made.

Then we started to act them out.

  

After we did some of our plays,the bell rang we ate our lunch

Then the bell rang everyone sat on the mat quitely waiting for the teacher.

The teacher came in,Then we did the afternoon roll.

After the roll we worked on our solo asembly.

After we worked on our solo asembly we got given a notice about nits

Then to finish the day off a story called The Cay

Tuesday 12 Aus

The bell rang,everyone went to their classes,to start the day. We started with maths and added the k ms from Mrs.Robert's travels.After we played the game close call.

Then we finished the off The Cay.

After the bell rang for morning tea.

At morning tea people played rugby,soccer,read,hockey,drew and other fun things.
After 25 minutes the bell rang to go back to your classes.
Then we finished the Cay.
Then we did solo assembly it was about respecting the environment and if we don't respect the environment the place that you're in will become the dump and the water that you're have will be dirty and filled with rubbish.
After solo assembly it was lunch time,in the middle of lunch the people in dance splash went to dance splash for two hours.while the some of the people where at dance splash, half of Pukeko was in Ruru and they read a book ,called the zoo by Anthony Browne.Then they  made their own the zoo stories.

Friday 8 August

Today we didn't start with Jump jam, we started with the roll what we do every Friday is recorders which starts at kiwi but today Ruru didn't do recorder we did basic facts instead after we did homework presentations.

Then the bell had to go.

After morning tea we had buddy reading while we had our milk.

then we started homework again.

Then miss. Olds told us about world peace day on Wednesday. And read us a story about the atomic bomb which was releasing toxic gas that is why it is called the "Atomic bomb,"

Then we started making cranes. In loving memory of sudako.

Then it was lunchtime.

After lunch we sat on the mat for the roll, after the roll we did whanau groups (family groups) green whanau did Rock Paper Scissors, yellow did four corners and that's all I know about what the whanau

Groups did. After whanau groups miss. Olds read us some of "The cay" (key) after the cay miss. Olds sent us to get our bags and put them under our desks after that we had to line up for assembly.

Then the bell had to go.

Wednesday 6 August

Today we didn't start with jump jam we started with Mrs. Roberts handing out our basic fact sheets 

For homework. When we did the roll we had to tell Mrs. Roberts something that she missed while she was in England.

But we did jump jam in the hall. :-D

For jump jam we did butterfly and super star!

These were the leaders who led us 

   

And these were the followers who followed the leaders.

Then we went back to class and played close call

Will and wills won the first round. We started the next round the target was "9,639" 

This number was the hardest 'cause we had 9000 on our sheet and we could go past the target, EEEEK! The winner for round two was Ella and Kaylee. With a total of 9,131. We'll done girls! ;-). Then we had to find out how far Mrs. Roberts had to travel from Wellington to England. Then Mrs. Roberts asked us if we found out some of the distance. The bell went and we had to get our morning tea.

After morning tea we did some silent reading while we drank our milk. After silent reading we started finishing our plays. And when we finished we were allowed to finish off something that needed to be finished.

We had to do as much as we could until the bell went for luncheon at 12:30. After lunch we did some finishing off and some started some weaving then at 2:50 we packed up for the end of the day at 3:00.

Today we started off with jump jam  as usual while doing the roll we said kei te pehea koe (how are you) hiakai ahau (I'm hungry) riri ahau (I'm angry) makariri ahau (I'm very cold) hiamoe ahau (I'm tired)

Pai ahau (I'm ok) koa ahau (I'm great) pouri ahau (I'm sad).

 After the roll we played a maths game called "close call"

We did some basic fact sheets and had to try beat our old score

Then we played ministers cat and if you makeup a word you have to put your legs out, this means you're out.

Then the bell went for morning tea. After the bell for class time we did silent reading while drinking our milk.

Then we started our plays again.

Some people were publishing and some were writing their's in their draft books.

Then we had to get our luncheon.

After lunch we had a power cut we did the roll as usual but we did different sentences in Maori.

After the roll we went to skipping and joined up with paua.

We'll done Gracie, Lucy and Claire jumping in a three while skipping with one skipping rope. When we got back to class we had 15 mins to do something that we have to finish then we had to pack up. After we sat on the mat mrs. Roberts gave us a rock not a boulder rock a type of candy rock thing this is it

When the bell went we did jump jam after that we did the roll and some of us said welcome back to mrs. Roberts

 

Mrs Roberts then had to figure out how to use the new ultranet, We also had a bit of a gossip 

And tell Mrs. Roberts what we had done for the past two weeks while Mrs. Roberts was in England.

We went to the library after morning tea then Gracie and Paige read us two story's dumb bunnys and I will never eat a tomato.

Then we started our plays that we started last week then we went to lunch.

The bell went for class time While we did the roll we said hello in Maori and then Mrs. Roberts would show us a colour and we had to say what that colour was in Maori.

(Yellow=He kowhai tena tai= you are holding yellow)

Then we did some finishing off- Initial, plays, etc.

Then mr. Frater showed us that we could print off of the chrome books, it was pack up time then we had to sit on the mat.

We had to empty out our bags and then the bell went. And we went home
