Thursday 17th April

Today is the last day of term one and it rained for the last day of the term, so once the bell went we all sat on the mat and did the final class roll for term one. When we did the roll in  Maori asking people in class what type of colours like aha tenei tae and if the colour was red and you say he aha whero just like that. So after we did the roll we did the bus board and then read the school news for today. Then we watched some photos from the swimming sports. Green whanau group came first with over one hundred points, Well done Green!!! First we did the usual.

 And after that we got a surprise, Tuatara came in and watched a movie, Hop.

 So we stopped halfway into the movie, and we contained to watch it after morning tea, and the wet play monitors went to their class to look after the students. After morning tea the kiwi kick people went to the hall to train, while the rest of the class watched the rest of the movie. The kiwi kick people came back at 11 o'clock to find the class working on their presentations.

After lunch we started listening to people's presentation

People have put a lot of effort into these!!!

16th Wednesday April

To day is Drees up day for all of Plateau school and nearly every one dressed up for book day.  We did the class roll and only five people are away today, so we lined up and walked over to the school hall for the dress up day photo and it was great 

And we got to have our own class photo for dress up day

After the class photos we went back to class and sat down on the mat and started doing maths and every group did the same work as yesterday. We did it up to morning tea and it was a wet play for morning tea to day. 

After morning tea we were ready for the school wally scavenger hunt but it was canceled due to rain and so everyone wins. Then we all came back in from the hunt. So then all sat down and read more of the hobbit.

So we stopped reading the hobbit and started finishing the choices presentation so that everyone can see everyone's presentation

  

Then we packed up and logged out of the computers and went out to lunch

So after lunch we sat on the mat, did the roll and got a surprise that we are going on a school trip for free.but after that we went to the hall and watched marzipan drama and their was three shows the first one was about a animals the second  one was about little red riding hod and the big good wolf trying to stop  little red from stealing gems and  the third one was about a donkey wanting to get a recorded deal and becomes a big star of raping

.  

     

    Such wonderful drama by marzipan dram and after all three performs we played a drama and their 5   People get picked and the first person has to act as something like a cat and once your turn is up the next person asks what are you doing and you can say being a bird but you can't do the same one as you did

  So we came back into the class room and finished up on all of our topic that is good choices for term one so that we can learn something new next term. So we pack up and finished everything for the day and got a lollie pop for the scavenger hunt being not on and that the second to last day of in term 1.  

Tuesday 15th April 2014

It's Tuesday  and only one more day Till book day. but we still have lots of stuff to do first so first we did the run. ruru class did 4 laps and kea did 4 as we'll so once we did the morning run. 

we sat on the mat and waited for mrs Roberts to do the roll and only 5 or 4 people were away.

   Then after the roll we played a fun game called the food game and how to play is you have to Liston the word in Maori and put the counters on the food you think it is it's a really fun game to play with friends or family.

                                                                                                         

So after that fun game we went on to do some maths so whero group is learning recognise the "value of each digit in a number. Kakariki - choose the appropriate strategy. Kahurangi use a pen and paper methods  to multiply 2 digit by 2 digit numbers. Kowhai -identify  decimals to three decimal places.

So just after maths we had a fun morning tea  and read some more of the hobbit

And learnt more stuff about the hobbit and then we get a chance to finish our choices presentation so and learn that bad drugs are bad and good drugs are good.

So after that we got to go to the library and to do a contest and it's called Name the book it should be fun for ruru Room today and to read more books to grow brain cells

Nearly everyone in class has got a book out to day 

So at the end we all sat down and answered all the answers for the name the book so the first book was the cat in the hat the second one was asterix  and the last one was Harry potter

  Once we got back into the class after lunch mrs Roberts did the roll and half of us were here after lunch we gave out the newsletters for every one  and then we get ready for swimming sports so after swimming sports the results were in and in first place was yellow house in second place was green house and in third place was red house and last place was blue house so the swimming sports was over and the last time we will ever go into the pool until term four so then we got back to class and sat down on the mat and read the hobbit until three o clock.  

Monday 14th April

This is a blog that is maintained by the students in Ruru Room,



To day was the day that the school Library re-opened to all of the school, but just before we went over  we got to look at Brianna's sculpture of her a head of a dragon and it took Brianna 2 or 3 weeks to do  and it was amazing to see Brianna's great work of the dragon Head. So after that we went to the re-grand opening of the school library and Chris Hipkins to cut the ribbon and open the school library so after the ceremony we went back to class and read the Hobbit and it was interesting

  
 Just after morning tea we read more of the hobbit  and then we did writing and we got to make our own stories And then we got to do shared reading, so then about 20 minutes in we got to look at the inside of the school Library and it's amazing  then we did look around and it was cool.

 And then lunch time hit and then lunch time was up and we did the roll and it was time to go to the time out party for term 1 and it's a disco instead of a movie.

 

Thursday 10th April 2014

The day started off with the run, the year 4, 5, and 6 did 5 laps and the year 3, 2, and 1 did 3 laps around the wet,slippery and hard concrete. After that the day started off with the roll and we said in  Māori, "I te aha koe?. " then we did maths. We love maths, we will be doing it until morning tea. In the maths we are going to to do the normal ways. The bell rang and everything went wild! Now the bell rang and we are doing some comma marking. After that wears going to do some silent reading. Now we are going to do some writing about anything, then we are going to do some swimming. We did freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. It was fun.its time to get out now. Now it's lunch time and we love to eat. After that we have Mr White. So far we have done some research on a topic. Now we are doing some art and it looks fun. After that we are going to play a game called ghost, it is spooky.  After that we went home bye Mr White!!!

Wednesday 9th April 2014

Today, the day will be a busy day again. We have a lot of thing to do. First the day started off with Maori, then we did maths. Now it's morning tea time. After that we did some commas and some writing. After that it was lunch and we had some food it was yum. Now we are at this art show in the hall and thank you for Bethany's mum for coming. Tuesday 8th April 2014

Today the hockey tournament is on today and a lot of people are in it. Today the Rurus are in a busy day, they have a lot of things going on! Now they are doing the roll and they are doing a lot of Maori, then they have to do maths and they will be doing maths until morning tea. The maths groups are doing lots of maths and are enjoying the maths and are learning lots. The bell has rang and everyone is loving it. After morning tea we came in and did some silent reading, now we are doing group reading. Miss Downing is teacher while Mrs Roberts is doing things in the back room.  Now, we are playing ministers cat. Everyone loves this game:). Then the bell rang and its time for lunch. It's wet play and everyone is QUIET! The bell rang time for class now we are doing some art yay! Art is fun and easy. The day has finished and we played a game called monkeys and bananas. We had great fun! Bye there.

Today we started off with the run. Then we went in and did the roll. Next we did some Maori saying, "Kei whea te rakau colour?" That is saying, " Where is the colour stick." Now we are doing some maths, Red is doing: recognise how many 10s and 100s are in big numbers. Green is doing: choose the appropriate strategy.Blue is doing: use pen and paper methods to multiply large numbers. Last but not least yellow is doing: add and subtract decimal numbers. We will be doing this until morning tea. The bell has rang and its morning tea. After that we read about Christmas and Easter too, now we now that its not all about presents, chocolate eggs and rabbits, it's all about Jesus and how he was born and how he died. Now, we are doing some commas, We are learning how they work and what they are. The class is discussing about commas.Now they are used to commas and to do harder ones. After that they go and do a work sheet about commas.The bell, has rang and every one is excited to eat! After lunch we did the roll and some people are going to learn German, some people are going singing.We are back in class and its two o'clock and we only have one hour until home time. We are all going to do some topic about choices. We did that for half an hour and now Mrs Roberts is refreshing our brains with telling us what happened with the hobbit. We are loving the book. It's nearly home time  and everyone loves the hobbit! Now it's home time see you tomorrow!
