Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday

In Ruru room we have just finished reading Goodnight Mister Tom.Tomorrow we will be writing some book reports on the story.Most of us enjoyed the book and are sad that it ended.

In reading time we have been reading; Charlie And The Chocolate Factory,Artemis Foul,Danny The Champion Of The World and Because of Winn-Dixie.While reading we have been stopping at intervals to; Clarify, Question, Predict and Summarize.

During writing time we have been writing setting descriptions we have been using the five different senses to create a more detailed picture.

At maths time we have been doing tree graphs to figure out problems and have been doing statistics on mathletics.

Friday 24th August

Most of us finished our book covers today. They looked fabulous and so we had to show them off in assembly. Most students seemed to enjoy the challenge, and some found persevering until they were finished difficult, but we all agreed that they will look wonderful on our library wall.

Today it was dress up as a book character day. I was impressed with how many students made the effort. Well done Ruru Room.

Today Kate Di Goldi came into school. She described how she felt about writing and books as a young child and shared some of the things she wrote when she was in Primary school.
