Monday
This week on Monday in maths we started doing perimeters. Most of us are finding this easy and can't wait until we do area. In writing we are making books for younger students. They are a variety of types like superhero stories, backwards stories and many others. Here are some of them; Cream Pie Guy, Foalans Adventures, Tommy Triangle's Big Adventure, The Tiniest Mermaid, Elmo's Adventure and Super Duck Vs Mental Man. In topic we are leaning about water conservation and the water cycle.
Tuesday
Today in maths, we continued with perimeters and tomorrow we are starting areas. For writing, we continued with our stories and we went swimming for the first time this term. In topic we took a better look at the Petone aquifer and had a look at how the Te Marua treatment plant worked.

On Tuesday we were reading bits of Charlie and the chocolate factory when Mrs Armstrong said we were making lickable wallpaper. Everyone got excited when she said that we where making lickable wallpaper. The first step is to get a A4 peace's of paper and fold it in half or in quarters. Then you draw a picture of any thing you want, then you get some pva glue and put it on the picture, next you get some jelly crystals and sprinkle it over your picture and let dry for about three hours and you lick it.

Fabulous Thursday!
Today we got up really really early in the morning so we can go skiing. The weather was beautiful so we needed to make the most of our day. We had to eat fast so we can get to the mountain quickly. The people that were more advanced went higher up the mountain and skied on the Rockgarden and the Waterfall Express lifts. the people that were down in Happy Valley practised the things they learned the day before and now they are really good.
We would like to say GOOD LUCK to the Dance Splash Squad and we hope you have a great night at The Michael Fowler Centre tomorrow night.

Wednesday - skiing at last!
Today was the first day that we were able go into Happy Valley and we had our first lesson. All of us can wedge stop and some can parallel turn and stop. Today was probably the coldest and windiest because at the start of the day the temperature was -7 and the winds were about 50 km southerly.
The deepest bits were about 50 centimetres deep when we were walking to and from the hut.

Terrific Tuesday.
Today the ski field was closed but we still went skiing. We walked from the lodge to a slope and skied down it a few times. After an hour of skiing, we went to the cafe and had hot chips for morning tea. Then we went back out and did another hour of skiing. We learned how to stop and put skis on. We had lots of fun. Then we walked back to the lodge. When we got back to the lodge, we went outside and had a play. Most of us were making huts for the snowball fight. After a while, there was a storm in the snow, so we got told to come inside. We are now ready for a good nights sleep.
